Sixty-year-old Ian Callum, the chief designer of the brand Jaguar, suddenly raised saloon Jaguar Mark 2. In the personal collection of Callum had this, but not very happy owner for a number of reasons Mark 2 was inconvenient for daily use. And the designer has decided to remake machine. He has attracted specialists from the British company Classic Motor Cars (CMC), which has made the Brand resto-mod restoration with upgrades.

The machine was called the Mark 2 by Callum. Speaking about it, the designer admits that it is «very personal»: «I have long cherished the idea. Although Jaguar Mark 2 was always beautiful car, I wanted to make the design more simple, clear and modern.»

Immediately after the premiere of the updated car Jaguar fans from around the globe began to call in the CMC with a request to sell them the same Mark 2, as Callum. The company had no choice but happy to announce the start of production of limited series. Released and prices: 000-375 from 350 000 pounds (a 21.1-22.6 million rubles).

Callum himself has developed a detailed plan to reform and coordinated with the CMC. The project lasted a year and a half. Paying tribute to the original, exterior Brits have changed a little bit. Technically Jaguar Mark 2 questioned more seriously than aesthetically. Original XK6 engine displacement 4.3 l and capacity of 213 PS was modified and boosted to an unnamed values. The motor is paired with a five-step «mechanics». The suspension substantially revised and strengthened. Front set adjustable springs and dampers, changed the levers replaced the mounting frame. Independent rear suspension, the British called unique: here, too, new springs, levers, custom shock absorbers, and stabilizer bar. Not left without attention of engineers and brakes, which now meets all modern safety standards.

Ian Callum is a passionate fan of the Jaguar. His first sketch of a car of this brand he drew in 1968 at the age of 14 and was sent to the then chief of the company to bill Haines, hoping to get a job. In response, the boss thanked and encouraged the boy, but the staff was not invited — they need to learn a little.
